RANGIYA, Nov 14 - Members of Rangiya Press Club today staged a sit-in protest here in front of the Press Club premises raising its serious concern over mysterious death of senior journalist Parag Bhuyan of Kakopothar in Tinsukia district recently. Press club members displayed postcards shouting slogans urging the State government to ensure security to scribes, besides carrying out an impartial probe into the suspicious death of the journalist.
The scribe body also urged the government to book the culprits behind his death. AASU leaders and other organisations also took part in the protest programme.
Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister by the scribe body in this connection.
Earlier, Rangiya Press Club members conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family members.
