AIZAWL, Sept 28 - Farmers in Mizoram took out a protest rally here today and slammed the State Government for its alleged refusal to initiate land reforms and implement an effective agriculture marketing system.
All Mizoram Farmers� Union (AMFU) president Joseph H Thanzuala said at the rally that the farmers would continue to struggle for a better deal for self-sufficiency in food production.
Thanzuala accused the present Congress Government led by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla of refusing to uplift the condition of the farmers and politicising the New Land Use Policy (NLUP), the flagship programme of the ruling party. � PTI
