GOLAGHAT, March 3 � A massive protest rally was held at the Golaghat Trimurti Khetra under the aegis of the Golaghat District Students� Union against the transfer of the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Nitin Khade who had served only for five months.
Several organisations of the district including the AJYCP, Adivasi Chatra Santha, Gorkha Students� Union, Vox Populi, Senior Citizens� Association etc participated in the rally. The leaders vehemently criticised the State Government for transferring the Deputy Commissioner who was able to solve the Assam-Nagaland border problem in his service period with utmost sincerity and competency. His dedicated services towards the development of the people of Golaghat was highly appreciated by the local people.
A protest meeting was also held where Apurba Ballav Goswami, Rohit Gogoi, Dwipen Dutta, Bikash Sarma, Hiren Gogoi, Biren Sarma, Ratul Dutta, Prem Newar spoke and demanded revocation of the transfer orders of Nitin Khade immediately.
