GUWAHATI, March 10 - The Programme Staff Association (PSA) of the All India Radio and Doordarshan is organising a silent march from Rajghat to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on March 11 to highlight the continuous neglect of decades-old pending legitimate demands of the programme staff of AIR and Doordarshan.

The march will be followed by a fasting at Jantar Mantar.

PSA members from Akashvani and Doordarshan Kendras spread across the country are converging in Delhi to participate in the protest.

Most of the members have not got their first regular promotion in a career spanning more than 25 years, in spite of the fact that sufficient promotional vacancies exist in the hierarchy. Hundreds of the Content Creating Programme staff have retired humiliated and hurt, without getting a single promotion in their entire service career, the Association said in a statement.
