DIBRUGARH, April 6 - In the wake of rising crimes against women and children, Kanaklata Nari Shakti, Dibrugarh today registered its protest by staging a demonstration in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner here. Later, submitted a memorandum to the administration.
The women group has demanded that Section 376 of IPC be amended and all rapists be hanged as punishment for their crimes. They have also demanded ban of all the porn sites within 48 hours in the State.
In order to check eve teasing, the women organization has suggested forming an action group involving local women groups or NGOs. Among other demands, the organization also demanded appointment of clinical psychologist or behavioural therapist in all educational institutions including madrassas.
