DIBRUGARH, April 23 � It seems the proposed super specialty hospital, to be fully sponsored by ONGC may not see the light of the day soon. An employee of the corporation, who lives in the Rudrasagar area of Sivasagar, has reportedly begun a campaign that the location of the proposed hospital has to be at Rudrasagar and nowhere else.
It is alleged in Sivasagar that this employee of the ONGC, is allegedly carrying out a whisper campaign in the historic town that locals would resort to an agitation if the location of the proposed Rs 100 crore hospital is located anywhere else than Rudrasagar. It is open knowledge that a powerful political lobby in the town is intent on the Rudrasagar locality, God knows why.
As has already been reported earlier in this newspaper on April 18 that a competent group has informally made an informal recommendation to the ONGC that a plot of land at Rajabari is most suitable for the project. Several merits of this site have been cited as the best possible location for the proposed ONGC -sponsored hospital. It is gathered from leading citizens of Sivasagar town that they too are in favour of the Rajabari location. ONGC and the Sivasagar civil administration has no reason to delay the matter any longer, unless they want to go along with undesirable elements.
