UDALGURI, Dec 30 - After being sworn as Chief Executive Member of the BTC, Promod Boro today visited Udalguri district and took stock of ongoing developmental activities.
The CEM had a closed door meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya and his staff. He had a threadbare discussion on various projects of the government in the district.
He later participated in a video conference with State Finance, Health, Education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at the DC�s office.
Later talking to mediapersons, the BTC chief said that his government will conduct a survey among the students and will take up all possible steps to enhance the career prospects of BTR students. He also informed that the BTC government has decided to exempt the students, senior citizens and differently-abled persons from taking passes while coming to the BTR Secretariat for different purposes.
Meanwhile, 100 supporters of ex-EM Mitharam Basumatary joined the UPPL party today. It is to be noted that Mitharam Basumatary, ex-EM of BTC, who contested the last BTC elections from Dhansiri constituency as a candidate of AIUDF was ranked third in the elections. The programme was also attended by Gobinda Basumatary, deputy chief executive member of BTC, among others.
