GUWAHATI, March 11 � A review meeting to assess the progress of updation of NRC in Kamrup Metro district was held at the District Library Auditorium here today.
The meeting was chaired by Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro.
It was attended by Local Registrar of Citizenship Registration (LRCR), Field Level Officers, Circle Officers and other officials involved with the process.
Dr Angamuthu said that any official found to be involved in dereliction of duty with regard to the NRC updation process will be prosecuted as per relevant law. He also directed the officials to hold meetings at the grass-root level to create awareness and take forward the process.
Altogether 77 LRCR offices have been set up in the Kamrup Metro district so far.
