Programme for beneficiaries of PMEGP

GUWAHATI, April 24 - A six-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for beneficiaries of the Prime Minister�s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) conducted by AGVB-RSETI, Kamrup (Metro) in the institute premises here concluded on Saturday.

Altogether 25 participants from various areas of the district attended the programme.

It was inaugurated by Pranab Kr Borah, General Manager, DICC, Kamrup (Metro) and Durlov Ch Nath, Director of the institute.

The valedictory programme was attended by Ramkrishna Sarma, Regional Manager, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Guwahati region, and Pranab Kr Borah, GM, DICC, Kamrup (M).

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries, in their speeches, encouraged the trainees to establish their new enterprise and go ahead by facing the challenges with courage and determination. They advised the trainees to maintain good relation with their bankers for future development.

Durlov Ch Nath stated that loan totalling Rs 106.88 lakh have been sanctioned to the trainees by various branches of AGVB, SBI, UCO, BOB, PNB, BOI, CBI, Indian Bank and Bharatiya Mahila Bank for their self-employment as well as employment generation. He also informed that during the last financial year, the Institute conducted 21 training programmes covering 551 unemployed youths in different Entrepreneur Development Programmes and action plan has been prepared for the current year to train 21 batches covering 555 rural unemployed youths for their self-employment.

It may be mentioned that these trainees will receive constant support and guidance from RSETI officials for the next two years.
