GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - To mark the 155th birth anniversary of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa, the Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa Smriti Raksha Samiti will be holding a detailed programme in the city on October 14.
The day�s proceedings will begin with the lighting of 155 earthen lamps at the statue of the Sahityarathi at the Gauhati Club roundabout at 5 pm. It will be followed by a book release function at the Asam Sahitya Sabha office at 6.30 pm where the Assamese, Bengali, Deuri and Nepali translated versions of Deepak Kumar Panda�s Bezbaroa and Sambalpur will be released. Also, the mouthpiece of the Smriti Raksha Samiti will be released on the occasion.
Panda, who has been playing a key role in preserving the century-old heritage �Bezbaroa Houses� at Sambalpur in Odisha, will also be present along with his wife.
