GUWAHATI, June 18 - The artiste fraternity of the city is organising a cultural programme for peace and brotherhood and against superstition and social evils at the Lakshmidhar Bora Kshetra near Dighalipukhuri from 3.30 pm tomorrow.

A statement signed by Sudakshina Sarma, Samar Hazarika, Pulak Banerjee, Loknath Goswami, Baharul Islam, Rabiram Brahma, Sanjoy Kumar Tanti, Pulak Gogoi, Chandrakanta Terang, Pakhila Lepthepi, Runu Devi, Biren Sinha, Champak Barbara, Bidyasagar, Rabijita Gogoi, Jnanen Barkakati, Nituparna Rajbangshi, Himangshu Prasad Das, Kiran Sankar, Kishore Kumar Kalita and Santanu Barthakur said that while the guilty involved in the heinous lynching of two innocent youths in Karbi Anglong must be punished as per law, some vested interest elements are using the situation as a pretext to foment communal hatred.
