GUWAHATI, June 8 - The All Assam Negative Blood Group People�s Club organised a blood donation and awareness programme at Arya Hospital here today.
The event was attended, among others, by club president Manash Mazumder, vice president Sanghamitra Deka and secretary Joba Nath Kalita. The speakers stressed the importance of blood donation with special emphasis on scarcity of donors for negative blood groups and appealed to the people to donate blood for saving lives.
�We have been conducting camps since 2016 and motivating people to donate blood, as it is very difficult to get donors for negative blood groups. We also run a Facebook page with the objective of disseminating information on blood donation,� Pulakesh Roy Medhi, chief convenor of the organisation, said.
