GUWAHATI, June 26 � Eminent scientist and zoologist of the zoology department, Gauhati University Prof Umesh Chandra Goswami passed away at the International Hospital at the age of 65 after a brief illness. He suffered a cardiac arrest and consequently put in the ventilator, before succumbing to the arrest.
The Gauhati University Teachers Association (GUTA) while deeply condoling the sudden demise of Prof Goswami, said, he immensely contributed for the growth and development of the Zoology department. He was the member in committees of UGC, DBT, DST, Government of India, said Dr Jogen Chandra Kalita, president of GUTA.
