Prof Nilima Bhagabati elected to C�wealth Council executive body

GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - Educationist and retired teacher of Gauhati University Prof Nilima Bhagabati has been elected as an executive member and representative of Asia, of the executive body of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration & Management, an international network of people in leadership across all sectors of education.

The Council�s executive body election was held recently, where Prof Bhagabati had represented India, said a press release here. It is a worldwide organisation supported by the Commonwealth Foundation.

Prof Bhagabati was also given the prestigious honour of Commonwealth Fellow in 2006 and has been its board member representing India since 2014.

The Commonwealth Council has bilateral relations with the European Forum for Educational Administration (EFEA), University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA), European School Heads Association (ESHA) and the International Research Centre on Education, Governance, Accountability and Management (EGAM). At present it is functioning in fifty-three nations.
