GUWAHATI, July 18 - Professor Khanindra Chandra Chowdhury and Professor Bhaben Chandra Kalita of Gauhati University (GU), Mathematics Department have been selected for the prestigious Professsor Emeritus Fellowship (2015-2017) under the aegis of University Grant Commission (UGC).
Professor Emeritus Fellowship recognition is given purely on pursuing high standard of research publication at national and international level along with research articles and other publications in the field of research.
Prof Chowdhury, while talking to this correspondent said that he was delighted on hearing the recognition he got. He also said that he wants to bestow the prestigious Prof Emeritus Fellowship to Gauhati University, students fraternity and whole of Assam and may his work benefit all.
Prof Bhaben Chandra Kalita, another recipient of the prestigious Professor Emeritus Fellowship said that he is happy in getting the recognition, but he would be happier if his research work benefits the student community, Gauhati University and other departments as well.
The two Emeritus Fellow hoped that this kind of award and Fellowship will encourage the students to pursue higher research work.
In yet another glory for the Department of Mathematics of Gauhati University, Himashree Kalita has been selected for the University Grant Commission (UGC) post Doctoral Fellowship for women candidates (2015-2017) under General Category. She second topped the list from among 100 applicants for the post Doctoral Fellowship.
