Probodh Choudhury�s death condoled

GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - The demise of former Assam Ranji cricketer Probodh Choudhury, who passed away yesterday, has been condoled by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA).

Originally hailing from Jorhat, Choudhury was an employee of the NF Railway since 1963 and settled at the Maligaon area here. He played 11 Ranji Trophy matches for Assam from 1959 to 1978.

The president Romen Dutta and secretary Devajit Saikia, on behalf of the organisation paid rich tribute to the former Ranji player.

International umpire Niloy Dutta, former Assam Ranji captain Rajesh Borah, Veterans Cricket Association of Assam also condoled the death of Choudhury. Saikia attended the funeral ceremony of the former cricketer at the Navagraha crematorium here today and laid a wreath on the mortal remains. He leaves behind a son.
