Probe into sexual assault charges against ASI

GUWAHATI, Sept 18 - The Guwahati police today ordered an enquiry against Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Satgaon Police Station Mohan Doley, against whom two women have levelled allegations of sexual assault.

The ASI allegedly assaulted these women sexually on different occasions when they had come to the police station on different purposes. One of the victims is a resident of Panjabari area while the other hails from Jorabat on the outskirts of the city.

�These incidents took place a few days ago, but the victims approached me only today. I�ve already started an investigation,� Assistant Commissioner of Police (Noonmati) Purabi Mazumdar said.

The ACP said that as the investigation is already underway and the allegations are yet to be proven, the ASI is still carrying out his duty at the Satgaon PS. �We will take action as per law, based on the findings of the investigation,� the ACP stated.
