GUWAHATI, April 27 - Priyanka Chopra, the Bollywood actress and brand ambassador of Assam tourism, will visit the State for shooting the next promotional advertisement campaign of 'Awesome Assam'.
Priyanka's three-day shooting has been scheduled around Jorhat, Kaziranga, Neamati-ghat and adjacent places.
Refusing to reveal much about her shooting schedules, sources from the State Tourism Department said Priyanka is likely to stay in Thengal Manor, the heritage tea garden bungalow near Jorhat, which has been converted into a luxury heritage hotel.
Since her association with the State tourism in December 2016, Priyanka has been a part of one promotional series, which was very well received by the people across the globe. The ad shows her in a flashback mode, missing the moments spent in 'awesome Assam'. She, however, could not come to the State to shoot for the same during that time.
A couple of days back, the then State Tourism Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that Priyanka would soon be coming to the State to shoot for the promos. "Last time, the storyline of the ad did not require her to be here. However, the coming promo series has a different theme," Sarma had said.
The State government would also review the contract with the actress by the end of this year to evaluate how this association has benefited the State tourism on the promotional front.
