GUWAHATI, June 29 - Representing India, Assam girl Priyana Kalita stormed into the quarterfinals in the Girls U-18 event of the World Junior Ranking Tennis Tournament which is going on at Nanthamburi, Thailand.
In a pre-quarterfinal match today, Priyana defeated Saki Oyna of Japan in a gruelling three setter 6-2, 0-6, 6-4. In the quarterfinal she will meet top seed Kim Igloupias of Indonesia tomorrow. Another Assam player Parikshit Somani, however, lost in the pre-quarterfinal in the Boys U-18 singles event. This was stated in a AATA press release.
