GUWAHATI, Dec 9 - Assembly Speaker Pranab Gogoi today said that the privilege motion brought by the State Government against former Congress legislator and minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had been forwarded to the Privilege Committee for necessary action.
The Deputy Speaker will chair the Privilege Committee.
The privilege motion was brought against Sarma for his behaviour that undermined �the dignity of the Speaker as well as the House�. Sarma reportedly made statements charging the Speaker with being influenced by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
