GUWAHATI, May 20 � The 72nd meeting of the local advisory committee of the Muga Raw Material Bank, Central Silk Board, Sivasagar, was held recently at Govt Basic Seed Farm, Khanapara, Guwahati, under the chairmanship of Dr K Giridhar, director, Central Muga Eri Research and Training Institute, Central Silk Board, Lahdoigarh, Jorhat, for fixing floor prices of Jethua muga reeling cocoons and eri and muga cut pierced cocoons for the year 2015, stated a press release issued by the assistant secretary (Tech), Muga Raw Material Bank, Central Silk Board, Sivasagar.
Among others, the representative of the Central Silk Board, director or Sericulture, Govt of Assam, Handloom and Textiles, Govt of Assam, Khadi and Village Industries Board, Guwahati, ARTFED, Guwahati and muga farmers and reelers representatives and others attended the meeting. The committee, after a threadbare discussion, recommended the following floor prices of Jethua muga reeling and eri and muga cut and pierced cocoons for this year.
Muga reeling cocoons: grade A Jethua muga: Rs 1,750 per 1000 cocoons; Grade B Jethua muga: Rs 1,600 per 1000 cocoons; Grade C Jethua muga: Rs 1,300 per 1,000 cocoons.
Eri pierced cocoons: Grade A eri pierced cocoons: Rs 710 per kg; Grade B eri pierced cocoons: Rs 620 per kg; Grade C eri pierced cocoons: Rs 400 per kg; Boiled eri cocoons: Rs 520 per kg. Muga cut pierced cocoons: Rs 500 per kg.
