Prez� intervention sought to restore normalcy in MU

IMPHAL, Aug 26 - Manipur University community has drawn the attention of President of India, who is the Visitor of Manipur University (MU), State Governor who is the Chief Rector of the varsity, HRD Minister and Chief Minister for timely intervention towards speedy restoration of normalcy in Central varsity.

Manipur University was reopened on August 23, after a 85-day shutdown demanding removal of Vice Chancellor AP Pandey was suspended temporarily following an understanding with the authorities.

In a joint press note here, Manipur University Students Union (MUSU), Manipur University Teachers Association (MUTA) and Manipur University Staffs Association (MUSA) have expressed happiness about the return of normalcy in the campus.

However they reacted to a letter from Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) on August 24 to newly-appointed Vice Chancellor to undo the changes relating to the replacement of the present Registrar (in charge) of Manipur University and send a compliance report.
