�Preparing NE for Digital India� prog begins at Tezpur

TEZPUR, June 1 - The Tezpur Extension Centre of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Guwahati launched the scheme of training of 60 Government employees of the Assam Government in two different courses namely CCC & CCC +on Monday.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr Charu Saharia Nath, retired Principal, Tezpur College in the presence of Director, K. Baruah, NIELIT, Guwahati and the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur, Paragmoni Mahanta. It is to be mentioned here that under the umbrella of Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s flagship programme of �Digital India�, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has joined hands with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society of DeitY, Govt of India to train 16,000 government employees of the north eastern States in two years. This is an effort of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt of India under a special scheme �Preparing North East for Digital India�. Under this programme 4400 Government officials are to be trained in all districts of Assam.

However, Tezpur Extension Centre will train 300 employees of Sonitpur district. This programme will be launched at Nalbari on June 1 followed by places like Silchar, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Biswanath Chariali, Udalguri etc., very soon. This training programme of NeGD and NIELIT is directly going to help the employees of the Govt of Assam to take part and propagate the mission �Digital India� of Narendra Modi to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology.
