TIHU, Oct 30 - Brisk preparations are on to observe the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika with a day-long programme at Belsor HS School of Nalbari district on November 5. In this connection, a celebration committee has been formed with Lakhi Patowary as president, Jayanta Barman as working president and Sunil Patowary as secretary. The open meeting to be held on the occasion, will be graced by Narayan Dutta Bhuyan, advocate, as the chief guest, Jibeswsr Deka, eminent drama artiste, as an appointed guest, Gobinda Kalita, executive member of Asam Sahitya Sabha as distinguished guest and BIpul Deka, retired Principal of Belsor HS School as invited guest.
In this connection, Bhupendra Sangeet contest will also be held where the first position holder from group A will be given Rs 10,000. The other programmes have been lined up, including flag hoisting and tree plantation.
