GOSSAIGAON, June 15 - The 49th death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha will be observed at the Kamal Nath Club cum Library in Gossaigaon on June 20 under the aegis of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, Gossaigaon branch.
During the event, the Asam Sahitya Sabha flag will be hoisted, and Rabha�s portrait will be garlanded. Besides a drawing competition among school children, and recitation of Rabha�s poems, an open meeting to commemorate Kalaguru will also be held.
After the meeting, in the memory of Jogendra Lal Choudhury, prize money, a citation and some books will be given to meritorious students of Gossaigaon who excelled in this year�s HS (Arts) examination.
AASU to felicitate meritorious students: Meanwhile, the Gossaigaon Anchalik Chatra Santha, a branch of the All Assam Students� Union (AASU), will organise a programme on July 8 at the Gossaigaon Higher Secondary School to felicitate those students who scored high marks in the HSLC, Assam High Madrassa, and HS examinations.
