Preparations on for Mising Bane Kebang

SILAPATHAR, March 3 � Preparations are on to hold the 34th general conference of Mising Bane Kebang at Romesh Mohan Kuli Lotta at Lakhipathar in Dhemaji district. The general conference will be held from March 19 to 21 with a three-day programme.

The oldest Mising Organisation, Mising Bane Kebang, was constituted in 1928. The organisation has been playing its crucial role in national integration, unity, peace and harmony. The Mising Bane Kebang is also playing a role for strengthening of the Mising Community.

The former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi also attended the Kulajan Conference of Mising Bane Kebang as the chief guest in 1966. The people of Dhemaji Mising community as well as other ethnic communities of Dhemaji are enthusiastic about the conference.

The conference will be held in in the district after completion of 44 years of the Kulajan conference. The important part of Mising Bane Kebang is that the president�s post as well as other post of the Kebang are open for all communities as well as the Mising Community.

The �Laikutha� of the conference was installed on February 12 by social worker, Gunaram Pegu. On the occasion, the programme was attended by vice president of the reception committee, Hira Doley, vice president of Murong Ghar sub-committee Gunadhar Pegu, food committee president Muhi Chandra Pegu, secretary Subash Doley and several others.

The reception committee along with sub-committees, for food, exhibition, book fair, trade fair main gate, Murong Okum, etc. are working round the clock for success of the programme. The reception committee has appealed to all sections of people to co-operate.

Social organisations, NGOs, SHGs, etc. are preparing traditional dress, �Poro Apong�, �Namsing� (made of dried fish) for guests.

The reception committee has invited booksellers, businessmen for book fair, exhibition, business fair, etc. The events will be held on a 35-bigha land area, just 5 km from NH-52 (Moridhal).
