Preparations afoot in Barak Valley, Morigaon

SILCHAR, Nov 3 - The build-up to the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah memorial State- level art competition organised by Assam Tribune Sports Club has triggered great curiosity among art enthusiasts across Barak Valley.

The competition will be held on November 10 across 30 centres of the State including three districts of south Assam. SM Dev Stadium of District Sports Association Silchar will be the venue for the competition in Barak Valley. The contest grouped in two categories viz., Class V to VIII and Class IX to XII with �I wish to fly� and �Advancement of Science� respectively as topics for the contest. The contest will start at 11 am.

Redesign� a conglomerate of applied artists and art enthusiasts in Silchar has extended cooperation with the hosts for the event.

�We are elated to know that Assam Tribune Sports Club is organising such an important State- level competitive event for the budding talents. We shall extend all cooperation to make the event successful here in Silchar,� said Goutam Dutta, president and Dr Nirmal Kanti Roy, secretary of Redesign.

Subimal Dhar, secretary of Silchar DSA and Sandipan Dutta Purakayastha, principal of Shilpangan Art institute also shared similar views welcoming the event.

Our Morigaon correspondent adds: Preparations are being made to hold the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial All Assam Art Competition, 2019 at Morigaon centre successfully on November 10 next.

The forms filling up process for the competition in two groups is going on in several art schools of the district located at Jagiroad, Gerua, Bhuragaon, Charaibahi, Morigaon town etc. The competition will be held at Sanjivani Kala Niketan, Morigaon on November 10 at 11 am.

An inaugural meeting before the competition will be held which will be inaugurated by Rituraj Bora, Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon. Narendra Nath Keot, Retired Principal, Morigaon College and Mileswar Pator, former president of Morigaon Zila Sahitya sabha will grace the occasion.

The candidates for the competition have been requested to submit their forms on or before November 7 at two agencies of Morigaon namely Bora Book House and Phani Das Book house. Moreover, they may also contact Dalim Phukan, Correspondent, The Assam Tribune, Bishnu Deka, Correspondent, Dainik Asam or Jyoti Prasad Mahanta, principal, Sanjivani Kala Niketan, Morigaon.
