GUWAHATI, Dec 24 - Preparations are on for hosting the 12th South Asian Games to be held in Guwahati and Shillong from February 5 to 16.
The Games will see 3266 participants, which include both athletes and team officials from eight nations participating in 23 different sporting disciplines. Another 1400 technical officials will also participate. Officials of the Indian Olympic Association, National Olympic Councils and 23 National sports federations will also be present during the mega event.
The venues in Guwahati are � Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Sarusajai, Nehru Stadium, RG Baruah Sports Complex, Nabin Ch Bordoloi AC indoor Hall, Sarusajai, NH37 Chakonibari, Sonapur (Cycling), LNIPE, Tepesia, Sonapur, Moullana Md Tayabullah Hockey Stadium, Bhetapara, DTRP Indoor Stadium, RG Baruah Sports Complex, Shooting Range, Kahilipara, Dr Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex, Sarusajai, All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal, Bhogeshwari Phukanani Indoor Stadium, Dispur. At Shillong-Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex no.1, Polo Ground SAI-SAG Indoor stadium, NEHU Campus, Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex-football ground, Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex-Indoor Hall, NEIGRIHMS Indoor Stadium.
