Pre-puja get-together

SHILLONG, Sept 18 - With hectic preparations on at various puja committees to celebrate Durga Puja, the monitoring-cum-implementation committee has organised a pre-Durga �Get Together of Harmony 2017�, inviting religious leaders from all faiths.

The programme was organised on Sunday in which members from various puja committees, church, Dorbar Shnong and NGOs attended. The function was addressed by various functionaries, which included JL Das, general secretary of central puja committee, Shillong. On the other hand, Unitarian Day was today observed in the State. The day is observed to mark a movement that began to let the masses to read the Bible by all in the 1800s.
