GUWAHATI, March 17 - The Guwahati Galo Students� Union (GGSU) today organised a pre-celebration of Mopin, an agricultural festival of the Galo tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, at the Mishing Morung at Japorigog here, a press release stated.

More than 500 students of Arunachal Pradesh who study in different colleges and institutions in Guwahati and Shillong participated in the pre-Mopin festival.

Student leaders of several unions like ATASU, TMPK, ANSU, GASU, GUSSU, ADISU took part in the festivities.

Pema Norbu Thongchi, special secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest at the function that was also attended by Yurum Tamin, president of the Arunachal Law Students� Union, and Mebom Jilen, president of the Arunachal Students� Union Shillong.

Messages from Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Arunachal BJP unit president Tapir Gao and Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong were read out on the occasion. The event concluded with a cultural programme.
