GUWAHATI, May 10 - Singer Bhrigu Kashyap was today granted interim pre-arrest bail by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Kamrup (Guwahati) in connection with a case related to allegedly posting a morphed and obscene photograph of singer Priyanka Bharali in social media.
Priyanka had lodged a complaint with the Dispur police on May 8 (case number 1062/2016) and the case was subsequently registered under Section 354/C 509 IPC read with 67A of IT Act, 2000. The Court after hearing the State counsel G Das and counsel for the accused Bijon Mahajan, directed that the accused be released on bail against a bail bond of Rs 1,500 and a surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the arresting officer. The interim pre-arrest bail period will end on May 30, on which date the case diary has been sought for final disposal of the matter.
