GUWAHATI, Aug 21 On Sunday in the capital city, all crusaders against corruption pledged their commitment to continue their campaign no matter whatever obstacles come in their way. Under the banner of India Against Corruption, Assam branch, Guwahatians came out in large today and participated in a candle light procession extending their solidarity to the one man who has succeeded in uniting all Indians on a common cause.

Supporters of the noted Gandhian Anna Hazare in the city earlier took part in an all faith prayer meeting held for his welfare. This prayer meet was organized at the protest ground of the India Against Corruption, Assam branch at the NCP office field here.

Ignoring the sweltering heat, senior citizens sat for hours at the protest ground. Despite age, they showed that they can fight too when it is a question of getting their country free from corruption.

General secretary of the India Against Corruption, Assam branch Pranjal Bordoloi informed that cross section of the population today assembled at the protest ground.

The crusade against corruption has rekindled the old fighting sparks in the Gandhians, motivated mothers to come out of the four walls of their homes and particularly has inspired the young generation to be part of this crusade, said Bordoloi.

Bordoloi said that the prayer meeting reflected the good will of the people for Anna Hazare who has been continuing with his fast.

We expect Anna Hazare to continue with the same zeal and enthusiasm pray to the Almighty to extend all strength to this Gandhian so that he is successful in his mission success, said Bordoloi adding that this spontaneous peoples movement will surely eradicate corruption from the country and build a new India.

It needs to be mentioned here that the protest ground has also been converted into a platform for discussing the Jan Lokpal Bill. People of all age group and different strata of the society take part in the discussion and according to Bordoloi this development has created the much needed awareness about the Jan Lokpal Bill.

We are happy that the everyday discussion on the Jan Lokpal Bill has created interest in the people. They are getting their doubts clarified and questioning the loopholes in the Jan Lokpal Bill drafted by the government, said Bordoloi reiterating that the people will definitely win.
