Pratyasha wants to be a researcher

DERGAON, June 1 - Pratyasha Barthakur of Dergaon Girls� HS school, who secured 17th position in the HSLC examination, aspires to a successful researcher in life.

Talking to this correspondent, she said that she wants to do something in the field of basic science. The only daughter of Physician Dr Mridul Barthakur and teacher Jyoti Kumari Sarmah Barthakur, she took part in National Children Science Congress and received the award of child scientist.

A regular reader of The Assam Tribune, she also reads the books of Homen Bargohain and Rita Choudhury. Being fond of music, she completed her BMuse degree last year. Revealing the secret of her success, she said that she studied 8 to 9 hours per day after the test examination. She had no regular private tuition but took the help of some teachers in Mathematics and Science.

She secured a total of 569 marks out of 600 with letter marks in all the subjects.
