GOLAKGANJ, Dec 30 � The 9th death anniversary of legendary singer Padmashre Pratima Baruah Pandey was observed here with a day-long programme on December 27.
The All Assam Students� Union unit of Gauripur organised the programme at Gauripur Public Library where many upcoming singers sang Goalpariya folk songs as a tribute to the late veteran singer.
Tributes were also paid to roving minstrel and cultural ambassador Dr Bhupen Hazarika and Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami in the programme by Banen Mushahary, MLA of Gauripur and other renowned persons of Gauripur.
A book titled Ami Ekekhon Naore Jatri was also released as a part of the day-long programme.
