The idols were eco-friendly and there was no use of plaster of Paris or artificial flowers. Natural colours were used on the idols which dissolve easily in the water without creating any negative impact on the aquatic life. Also, sound pollution and electricity consumption of the puja committee were minimum. Prasad was distributed in earthen pots and banana leaves. The same procedure was followed on the day of Lakshmi Puja. The puja committee has also decided to provide financial help to a four-year-old girl suffering from cancer.
