Pragjyotish win inter-college title

GUWAHATI, Dec 11 � Pragjyotish College defeated Paschim Guwahati College by a huge margin of 63 runs to clinch the NEEDS organised 5th All Assam Premoda Kanta Memorial Inter College cricket title at the Latasil playground here today.

Batting first, Pragjyotish were bowled out for 155 in their 20 overs. Govinda Rajbongshi (34) and Nitul Ali (25) were the top scorers. For Paschim Guwahati, Ratul Kalita bagged 4 wickets. In reply, Paschim Guwahati managed only 99 in 20 overs. Ratul Kalita scored 16 runs.

Ratul Kalita won the man of the series trophy and Govinda Rajbongshi won the man of the match title. Nitul Ali of Pragjyotish College was adjudged as best batsman and Dhiman Jyoti Das of the same college won the best bowler title of the tournament. Dhiren Baruah, president of SGBG, sportspersons Phani Chakrabarty, Kazi Nekibuddin Ahmed, Asif Saikia, Kailash Sharma were present in the prize distribution ceremony.
