GUWAHATI, Jan 9 - Prag News clinched the title in the 7th TG Baruah Memorial Media T20 Championship.
In the final played at the Judges� Field here today, Prag News defeated Pratidin Group by 25 runs.
Batting first, Prag News gathered 122 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Robin Das was their top scorer with 24 while Sanjit Basfor and Nikhil Basfor contributed 21 each. For Pratidin, Parthiv Hazarika scalped three wickets. Chasing the moderate target, Pratidin Group batsmen failed to hit form and were all out for 97. Nayan Pratim Kumar (25) and Jagjit Singh (22) were the only notable contributors for Pratidin as Nikhil Basfor took three wickets for 14. Mriganka Sarma of Prag News (best batsman), Manjit Sarma of Pratidin (best bowler) and Pranjal Sakri of Gana Adhikar (best fielder) received individual awards. Sanjit Basfor of Prag News was adjudged the player of the tournament.
