GUWAHATI, Feb 5 � With a fighting eight-wicket victory against Janasadharan, Prag Channel became winners in the Gauhati Town Club Inter Media Cricket Championship.

In the close summit clash at the Judges� Field here today, Janasadharan were restricted to 128 after being put into bat first. Apart from Nitul Ali (41), no other Janasadharan batsmen could tackle the sharp Prag bowlers.

In reply, Prag hit 131 for two with just one ball to spare. Mriganka Sarma (73 off 67 balls) and Sanjib Narain (38 off 39 balls) managed to guide Prag to the safe shores.

Mriganka Sarma and Sanjib Narain, both Prag were adjudged as man-of-the-final and man-of-the-series respectively. Binoy Kalita and Robin Das, both DY 365 received the highest wicket-taker and highest scorer awards respectively. Assam Tribune received the Fair Play Trophy.

Brief scores: Janasadharan 128/9 (Nitul Ali 41, Nabajyoti Kalita 2/19, Bhargav Baishya 2/30, Rajesh Barman 2/31). Prag 131/2 (Mriganka Sarma 73, Sanjeev Narain 38).
