GUWAHATI, March 27 - Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has mourned the death of veteran journalist and educationist Prafulla Rajguru who breathed his last today.
In a statement, Prof Mukhi said, �Known as an upright journalist and an educationist of repute, Prafulla Rajguru made invaluable contributions to the enrichment of intellectual faculty of the State.�
Rajguru was also an acclaimed litterateur and a prolific speaker who made an indelible mark in the literary field of the state. His death is an irreparable loss to the State, the Governor said.
�May the Almighty God bless and comfort the bereaved family during this time of grief. I also pray to God for eternal peace of the departed soul,� the Governor said.
The Journalists Association of Assam and the National Union of Journalists, India have also condoled the death of former residential editor of the Jorhat edition of Amar Asom Prafulla Rajguru.
A joint condolence message issued by the organisations said that Rajguru�s death has caused a huge void in the spheres of journalism and literature and that his contributions would always be remembered. They also extended their sympathy to Rajguru�s bereaved family.
