MORIGAON, March 31 - The Congress candidate of Nagaon Lok Sabha seat has denied reports that the Congress has a secret understanding with the Badaruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF party to in forthcoming parliamentary poll in Assam.
Addressing a press conference here at Morigaon Congress Bhavan recently, Bordoloi said that it is the hype and hoopla of the communal BJP who believed only in communal politics. Coming down heavily on the Asom Gana Parishad, Bordoloi said that Atul Bora, Keshav Mahanta will join BJP after the elections and only former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta will lead the regional party. Bordoloi further said that all democratic secular forces are unitedly supporting the Congress to uphold the democratic values in the country. If the BJP comes to power at the Centre again, the facist ,autocratic rule
will be introduced, Bordoloi added.
He further said that the Congress is the only party which opposed the BJP in the Rajya Sabha over CAB. He also appealed to the All Assam Students� Union to make their stand clear over the issue of CAB and what to do in the forthcoming polls with the originator of CAB. Bordoloi also addressed a series of meetings in Jagiroad constituencies.
On the otherhand, the BJP members led by Jagiroad MLA Piyush Hazarika also organised several street-corner meetings in the constituencies to woo the voters.
