NEW DELHI, June 10 - Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today reviewed the situation arising out of the Baghjan gas well blaze, with the Centre claiming that the fire around the site has been mostly extinguished.
Pradhan held the review meeting through video conference with the crisis management team stationed at the site, officials of the ministry and OIL. It has been reported that except at the well plinth area, the fire around the site has mostly been extinguished. However, the burning of gas at the well mouth will continue till the well is capped, official sources said.
Pradhan along with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the situation yesterday also with OIL and ONGC officials, besides the foreign experts at the well site through video link. Pradhan assured Sonowal that there would be full cooperation from the ministry and OIL.
