GUWAHATI, Dec 21 � The Assam State Power Workers� Union has given a call for a 72-hour total strike on January 6 next in protest against the failure of the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) authorities to remove the anomalies in the new pay scales. The members of the Union will also resort to a two-hour dharna from 10 am of December 28 on the issue.
The Union said in a press release here today that it had kept its proposed agitational programme suspended on an earlier following a written assurance from the ASEB Chairman that its grievances would be taken care of within the first week of November last.
