By Staff Correspondent

JORHAT, Oct 22 - Normal life was severely affected in and around Jorhat town for the second consecutive day today after power supply was disrupted on Monday morning (around 10 am) following heavy storm and rains lashing the town and its adjoining areas.

Due to lack of electricity, normal life has been paralysed with inverters and generators getting exhausted in residences, commercial and business establishments, banks, educational institutes and hospitals and nursing homes.

A large number of trees fell on many cables and over 40 electricity posts fell down and the power supply got snapped.

An APDCL official said this evening that though restoration work was started after the storm it got hampered due to another heavy downpour in the afternoon yesterday.
