SILCHAR, Sept 24 - The Cachar Electrical Circle of the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has stated that due to repair and maintenance works on the 132-KV Srikona Substation, there would be a power shutdown in Silchar town from 8 am to 3 pm on October 4. Power supply will also be affected at Lakhipur and Udharbondh constituencies and other surrounding areas from September 26 to 30 and again on October 2 due to maintenance works on the 132 substation at Pailapool.
In a release issued to the media, Gour Gopal Saha, Chief Executive Officer, APDCL, Cachar Electrical Circle, Central Assam Region, said that due to unavoidable conditions, repair and maintenance works on the two substations are necessary ahead of the Durga Puja festivities. �We will try our best to provide services and expect the people of the constituencies concerned to extend their cooperation to us during the period of power shutdown,� Saha added.
