GUWAHATI, Oct 5 - Members of the Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees, Engineers and Pensioners (CCOEEEP) today staged demonstrations in front of their respective offices across the State against the proposed privatisation of the power sector.
The protest was part of the nationwide protest observed by the power sector engineers and employees in support of the Uttar Pradesh power employees who are protesting against privatisation of the Varanasi discom sector.
The central committee of CCOEEEP shouted slogans at Bijulee Bhawan here. Rajya Sabha member Ajit Kr Bhuyan also took part in the protest. They also submitted a memorandum to the Union Power Minister in this regard.
