GUWAHATI, June 20 � A vast area to the east of the city plunged into darkness this evening as a conductor of the Narengi-Bamunimaidam 33 kv line got snapped behind the Guwahati Refinery here around 4-30 pm today, resulting in total failure of power supply in the evening hours in Narengi, Noonmati, Bamunimaidam, Chandmari, Sil-pukhuri areas. According to APDCL sources, the line was restored by 8 pm today.
