TURA, April 30 - Residents of North Garo Hills, especially in Resubelpara, are crying foul over the frequent power cuts every day in their area, and have asked the authorities what was the reason behind such outages. The power cuts are in addition to the daily three-hour outage.
�On some days, we have to get through with more than 12 hours without electricity spread through the day and night. In this heat, it is becoming unbearable and we can�t understand whether the shutdown is for three hours or the entire day. It seems the state government is hell bent on punishing us,� said Belpara resident Willness Marak.
Marak questioned the State Power Minister over the issue and asked what was being done to ease the pains of the people. �We had a storm on Sunday night and till now, the power has not returned. It is not just one day but for close to a month that we have had similar problems,� he said.
