GUWAHATI, May 6 - Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia today inaugurated a self service electricity bill payment and information kiosk for the convenience of the consumers at Dispur Capital Sub-Division, near Rajdhani Masjid.
The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is introducing seven such kiosks in Guwahati in a phased manner. These will come up on Basistha ESD premises at Six Mile, Kalapahar substation premises at Bishnupur, the capital electrical complaint booth near Rajdhani Masjid, besides at Maligaon Chariali, GNB Road, Chandmari, Bhangagarh GMCH campus and the Gauhati High Court premises.
MD Pradyut Buzarbarua and other senior officials of the APDCL were also present on the occasion.
The consumers from Guwahati as well as 66 towns of the State covered under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programmes scheme will be able to pay their bills in these kiosks in Guwahati from 8 am to 8 pm. Provision of payment through cheques would be made in future through the bank branches of Guwahati.
