Besides, a post shoppe was also opened at Agartala HPO which will serve as a one-stop-shop where customers can procure stationary items like envelopes, glue, packaging materials, etc., as well as customised parcels for booking.

People can also browse through philatelic items and collections like bags and mugs. My Stamp counter where personalised stamps can be made has also been opened and franking services are also available.

Prasad also laid foundation stone for Dimapur Mukhya Dak Ghar.

Tripura Communication Minister Tapan Chakraborty, who was present in the programme, however, pointed out some problems faced by Sub Post Offices and Branch Post Offices. Shutters of seven Sub Post Offices have been down in the State resulting in people being deprived of post services. Around 50 per cent of posts in different post offices are lying vacant, he said.
