Positive cases rise to 179 in Golaghat dist

DERGAON, June 2 - With 10 new cases, the total number of positive cases has increased to 179 in Golaghat district on Tuesday.

All the new cases are retrurnees at the quarantine centres, who had come to the State from outside by Shramik Special Train.

Among the total number of cases, 21 patients including 12 on Tuesday, were released so far. Therefore, a total of 158 positive cases are active in the district as on Tuesday.

One hundred and twelve patients are undergoing treatment at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital (SKKCH) Golaghat against 120 beds in total and 46 patients were sent to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

The district surveillance officer and in-charge of Golaghat SKKCH Dr Dilip Rajbpngshi said that while 12 patients have been released, 10 new patients have entered.

Golaghat Deputy Commissioner Bibhash Chandra Modi said that a total of 112 patients were in Golaghat hospital on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) level meeting on �Community acceptance towards negative patients released from institution for Golaghat LAC� was held on Tuesday.

The meeting held at Golaghat Kalakhetra was attended by MLA Ajanta Neog, DC Bibhash Ch Modi, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr Toufique Hussain, ADC Lakhimi Dutta, Khanidra Das, representatives of Social Welfare Office and other key officials.

Delivering her speech, Ajanta Neog urged the concerned officials and the other individuals to take the matter very dedicatedly so that no one returning from quarantine cerntres would face any untoward situation.

District Media Expert (DME) under National Health Mission (NHM) Purbali Hazarika said that the meeting was a successful one in which the MLA and the DC provided very useful directives to the officials to be followed in coming days at the field level.
